A Little Introduction

My name is Marion. I’m 27 years old and currently based in Lisbon, Portugal. I grew up in the South-West of France, between the vineyards and the Atlantic coast, and have always had a strong curiosity for the world beyond my home country.

Living and teaching in different countries has given me the opportunity to meet and work with learners from a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities and language levels. These experiences have taught me that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning a language, and that every student brings their own goals, strengths and challenges to the classroom.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy music, video games, and, of course, a good cannelé from Bordeaux!

As a teacher, I believe that every learner is different. That’s why I place great importance on providing personalised support tailored to each student’s needs, goals and pace. My aim is to help my students make steady, meaningful progress while making French learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

My Professional Journey

Bordeaux, France

Born and raised in the Bordeaux region, I completed all of my studies there. A growing interest in the English language first led me to pursue undergraduate studies in English, during which I spent an academic year abroad at Aberystwyth University in Wales. I then returned to Bordeaux to begin a Master’s Degree in French as a Foreign Language at Bordeaux Montaigne University, graduating in 2024. It was there that I developed both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that laid the foundations of my teaching career, before taking my first steps abroad.

Auckland, New Zealand

During the second year of my Master’s, I travelled to New Zealand for a nine-month teaching placement at the Alliance Française Auckland. It was my first opportunity to teach independently and take full responsibility for my classes. Not only did I work with learners of all ages and backgrounds, but I also trained as a DELF examiner and took part in my first examination sessions as a jury member.

The Start of Croissant Lune French

After graduating in 2024, I decided to create Croissant Lune French, inspired by the nickname of my hometown, Bordeaux: “Le Port de la Lune” – the Port of the Moon – a reference to the crescent shape of the Garonne river as it flows through the city. Alongside developing my skills in online teaching, I also taught in person at the Alliance Française de Bordeaux, while waiting for the opportunity to return abroad.

Sibiu, Romania

In 2025, I moved to Sibiu, Romania, where I began teaching French to military students. Working in such a specific environment gave me the opportunity to adapt my teaching to a new audience and develop a more flexible approach to lesson planning. Alongside my work there, I continued teaching independently online and contributed to the creation of teaching materials and digital resources.

Lisbon, Portugal

In 2026, I am continuing my journey in Lisbon, Portugal, where I’m teaching French in person at the Alliance Française de Lisbonne while continuing my online teaching through Croissant Lune French. I hope to gradually grow the project into a welcoming space for learners from around the world. I also look forward to expanding my skills, including through training to become a DALF examiner.
